Hey there music-loving-reader! We are the Other Realm and we're super excited to be writing our first bl
og post about the band. We figured this could be a cool place and time for us to introduce ourselves and a little bit about our path to becoming The Other Realm.
The band itself is just me (Kenny) and Billie, and we actually live on opposite sides of the world. I'm based in Maui, Hawaii, and Billie is in Connecticut, which is where we both grew up. We've always played music together, and we've both had a lot of different projects and bands. I've gone as a solo singer/songwriter for years, and Billie has been in a bunch of bands. Over the past few years, though, we've really started to make a lot more music together, despite being so far apart geographically. If anything, I think the sudden space in distance has caused us to focus more on creating music, almost as a way to stay in touch with each other a lot. After a while, we started piling up more and more songs, and we decided we'd both focus in on being a duo...and then The Other Realm was born!
We're so excited to share "Teleport," our first EP, on July 26, 2019. This set of songs will be a sampling of what to expect from us in the future. You'll hear "The Whole World's Melting," "Glass House Lover," and "Sifting Sand" which are each unique in their sound and style. We hope you love listening to it as much as we loved creating it!
